World Grand Prix 2016: Day 1. Vladimir Sinitsin’s prediction
In four evening matches, the most interesting seems the match between two close friends – John Higgins and Stephen Maguire. Steven really wants to return to the top 16 before the World Championship. I’m not implying anything, but I believe that the meeting will be hard, and Stephen’s victory could happen.
In a match between Selt and Day, I don’t see the favourite. I think that Matt’s chances are no worse, as he has played superbly recently. He won the Group 7 in the Championship League and didn’t get lost among the stars of snooker in the final group.
Ronnie O’Sullivan has been playing very consistently in the first months of the year, and I don’t see any progress in Holt’s game. Based on this, I assume that Michael won’t win more than one frame today.
